This was an awesome short pleasure to read. This Novella is a prequel to Thompson's Keeper Saga and gives us the history of how the Wolf Gift/Curse depending on how you see it, came to be. We meet Swiftfoot and Shining Star who are very much in love and then tragically torn from each others arms. This particular part of the book is heartbreaking, the love between Swiftfoot and Shinihg Star is immense and the goodness of her spirit is admirable. You will ache for Swiftfoot's loss. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.This is a prequel to The Keeper Saga. It is an extremely short read.This basically gives you a short insight into how the Keepers come to be. Due to the lack length of the novella I couldnt really get into the story. The writing was good and there is a depth to the character that is very unexplored. I am for sure going to be reading the next book to see where this characters take us.

Lost LoveSwift Foot loved Shining Star with all his heart and on their wedding day, her sister practiced dark magic and seeming to be a huge bear pushed her off the mountain to her death. Swift Foot was devastated, went down the mountain and carried Shining Star to their home. I could feel Swift Foot's pain. This is a short story about the legend of The Keepers. I recommend reading this one first before moving onto the series. It gave us some really good back story that should come into play in the next books (which I can not wait to get started on)Of course there is no HEA, which I am more than fine with, but this is a prelude of what we can expect to come in the next books.
