“Poog’s in trouble.” Just three simple words, but they’re enough to launch fifth-grade Akiko and the rest of her crew—Spuckler Boach, Mr. Beeba, and Gax—on their next mission. And it just might be their most important mission yet: To save the planet Toog, home of their good friend Poog.

Someone’s out to destroy Toog, and only Akiko and the gang can stop them. But first they have to escape from a Toogolian jail cell, zoom through a barrage of exploding drobe mines, and enlist the help of Spuckler’s old friend Fluggly Ragstubble—who’s anything but helpful. The clock is ticking and every second counts. Will they win the race against time and save Poog’s home planet?

Column Out Of Books Akiko and the Journey to Toog (Akiko Books #7)
A book about a girl called Akiko, who has fantastic adventures with her alien friends.

I love the entire Akiko series. All of the books are wonderful, and Akiko and the Journey to Toog is is no exception. As a reader of the series, I have always wondered about Poog. Where is he from? Why is he just a floating head? What powers does he have? Things like that. Finally, in Akiko and the Journey to Toog we get to learn a little more about this floating purple head of an alien. I also enjoyed the new character of Fluggly Ragstubble. He reminds me of Spuckler, but a little less accident

This was a nostalgia read for me. I read Akiko books and comics when I was a youngen' being carted along to comic book shops with my dad. I loved Akiko as a kid- she was a 5th grader, traveling the universe with her friends (Mr. Beeba, Gax, Poog, and Spuckler), saving worlds and having a blast. I loved the books. So, about 15 years later, I decided to read this book for a quick and fun read. And it was everything I loved as a kid. Fun adventure to Poog's home planet (Poog is my favorite

I learned you should never abandon what other people ask you to do. Poog was not supposed to know the other characters so that he could become an elder on Toog (Tooglians can get to be 500 years old). Elders are supposed to go on a 100 year meditation alone, but he got bored and abandoned it. But then his planet was in trouble so he had to go back, then he made his friends mad and was in trouble. It has a very happy ending.
